AngeliaSendTM - On-Line Help - Getting Started
A FREE Field Test version of AngeliaSendTM is now available
for download. The file
downloaded is a self exploding zip that contains a setup application which, when run, will install the necessary
components of AngeliaSend on your system. Outlook must be shut down before running the installation.
After installation, restart Outlook. When Outlook starts up, AngeliaSend will automatically create the folders that it
needs within your Outlook folder structure. You will find a new folder named "AngeliaSend Folders" which contains
several sub-folders including "Campaign Sent Items", "Opt Out Request E-Mails", and "Lost And Found
Items". All of the data that AngeliaSend requires will be stored within these folders.
AngeliaSend is designed to make it easy to send many copies (tens to hundreds) of the same E-Mail message so
that the message that is received by each recipient is individually addressed. This both improves the presentation of your
message (which also increases the odds that your message will be opened and read) and keeps your actual distribution list private
without having to resort to various Blind Copy tactics. To send an E-Mail using AngeliaSend:
- Create an E-Mail message or select any existing E-Mail message. With AngeliaSend you don't
need to worry about "Forward" or "Reply" to use an existing message since AngeliaSend uses your E-Mail as a
template and copies what it needs to each of the E-Mails that it sends.
- Click the "Campaign Send" button that is located on the bottom of the Outlook E-Mail Inspector
form in Outlook 2003 or is in the "Add-Ins" tab in Outlook 2007. Don't bother making any entry in "To",
"CC", or "BCC" since addressing will be handled using AngeliaSend's
"Campaign Send E-Mail Address Wizard".
- Select the Contact Folder(s) that contain the contacts you want to include in your E-Mailing. Your
default Contact folder is automatically selected by AngeliaSend. Click on the check box to the left of the folder(s) that
you want included. If a Contact Folder has a check mark to its left then its contacts will be included in the "Available
Contacts" list. If you uncheck a Contact Folder than all of the contacts from that folder will be removed from the
"Available Contacst" and "Selected Contacts" lists.
- Select the Contacts that you want to receive your E-Mail message. Highlight contacts in the "Available
Contacts" list by clicking on them. Hold down the control or shift key to select more than one contact at a time. Then
click the "Select" button to move all highlighted Contacts in the Available List to the Selected List
-- or double-click on an Available Contact to move it to the
Selected List. You can "Deselect" contacts by clicking
them in the same fashion in the Selected List.
- Verify Subject Line and Campaign Name. Subject is required while Campaign Name is optional. The
Campaign Name item is a drop-down list that contains all of the Campaign Names that you have previously used. You may select
any one of them, or enter a new Campaign Name as you wish.
- Check For Duplicates by clicking the "Show Dupes" button on the tool bar. The "Selected Contacts" List will
be sorted on E-Mail address, and any duplicate addresses will be shown by color-coding. Note that the "Show Dupes" button will
be disabled unless you have at least two contacts in your "Selected Contacts" list. Deselect as many of the duplicates as you
wish by highlighting them and clicking the "Deselect" button.
- Send Your E-Mail by clicking the "Send E-Mails" button on the tool bar. A copy of your E-Mail
addressed to each of your Selected Contacts will appear in the Outlook OutBox folder, and a single master copy will be placed in
AngeliaSend's "Campaign Sent Items" folder. The "Campaign Sent" copy will have all of the recipients' display names in the "To"
area.
That's all there is to it. There are additional options dealing with "Opt Out" requests, error handling, automatic
duplicate elimination, "Blind Copy Sends", and Loading/Saving your settings. All of these topics will be
discussed in detail in the appropriate documentation section.
