The AngeliaMail Configuration Utility is a 32 bit Windows™ desktop application and is responsible for managing the database that catalogs SMTP Hosts and Groups of Email Addresses. It is also used to create and maintain AngeliaMail Command Files which consist of predefined sets of what would otherwise be command line parameters, greatly reducing command line complexity and simplifying batch file maintenance.
The Configuration Utility's main form provides a visual summary of AngeliaMail License Status, SMTP Hosts, and Email Address groups. It also provides a set of tools to manipulate these items, including wizards to simplify the definition of complex objects such as SMTP Host connections and AngeliaMail Command Files.
AngeliaMail configurations may be password protected to prevent accidental or unauthorized modifications. If a configuration is password protected, the Configuration Utility will display a password dialog whenever the configuration is opened. If the password is not known, you may still use the Configuration Utility to inspect configuration information, or to create and/or edit AngeliaMail Command Files. The Configuration Utility's current password state is displayed in the lower left hand corner of the main form.
A note on menu item availability: From time to time, menu items or other controls, such as buttons, will be disabled (“grayed out”). In particular, when operating under an evaluation license the following controls will be disabled:
a) “License Status” selection group - “Select A Different AngeliaMail Configuration File” - relocated configuration files are not allowed with evaluation licenses.
b) “SMTP Hosts" selection group – “Add A New SMTP Host Definition” and “SMTP Host Connection Wizard” will be disabled once one SMTP Host Connection has been defined.
c) “Email Groups” selection group – “Add A New Email Address Group” will be disabled once 2 Email groups have been defined. In addition, the “Add New Member” button will be disabled on the View/Modify Email Group dialog once 2 group members have been defined in any group.
d) “Config Options” selection group – “Password Protect Configuration”, Clear Configuration Password”, “Select A Different AngeliaMail Configuration File”, and “Relocate Configuration File”. Also, note that “Save Configuration File Changes” will only be enabled when changes to the configuration have been made, but not saved - regardless of type of license.
A note on licensing: Production licenses for AngeliaMail are based on MAC (Media Access Control) Addresses which requires the presence of a suitable Network Interface Card in the computer on which you wish to license AngeliaMail. Only Ethernet and Token Ring type adapters are currently supported. A license key will be generated by Kamradt & Hill that is unique to a particular adapter. This adapter must be present and enabled whenever either the AngeliaMail Command Line Utility or the AngeliaMail Configuration Utility is to be executed.
