AngeliaMailTM - On-Line Help - Password Protecting Configurations

Password protection of configuration files is provided to assist in maintaining the integrity of your AngeliaMail configuration by restricting modification rights to only those users with access to the configuration password.

To apply a password to your configuration, select "Password Protect Configuration" in the "Config Options" select group on the AngeliaMail Configuration Utility's main form.  This selection will be disabled if you are operating under an Evaluation License, or if the configuration is already password protected and you chose the "Skip Password" option when you opened the configuration.

On the Configuration Password Administration dialog, you will be asked to enter and confirm your password.  A password must be from 8 to 12 normal (standard 7 bit) ASCII characters – spaces and control characters are not allowed.  Click "Apply" when you have entered and confirmed your password.  Be aware that the password will not be permanently stored until you select "Save Configuration Changes" from the "Config Options" selection group on the main form.

Once you have set a configuration password, you will be prompted to enter it each time you start the AngeliaMail Configuration Utility.  If you wish to be allowed to make any changes to your configuration, enter the password where indicated and click the "Password Supplied - Enable Updates" button.  If you choose the "Skip Password - No Updates Allowed" button, you will be allowed to view the configuration, but will not be able to make any changes to core configuration items.  You will still be able to view, modify, and create AngeliaMail Command Files.  The password status will be displayed in the lower left corner of the main form.

A password may be modified by following the same sequence as applying a password for the first time. To clear a password (which removes password protection from the configuration), select "Clear Configuration Password" from the "Config Options" selection group on the main form.  Once again, this change is not permanent until you select "Save Configuration Changes".

If you have lost your password, and wish to clear the configuration password (which is not normally possible without first providing the existing password) you may do so if you are in possession of the original license key in effect when the original password was applied.  If you have misplaced your license key, contact Support@KamradtAndHill.Com for assistance in obtaining a copy of the original license key.  Note that when using the Remote Administration feature, the license key will be the one associated with the configuration that was originally relocated to become the shared configuration.
