The AngeliaScheduler Desktop Configuration Utility is a Windows desktop application and is responsible for managing licenses and initial configuration. It may only be run on the system that is hosting the AngeliaScheduler Service. Since both the AngeliaScheduler Service and the Configuration Utility require exclusive access to the Configuration Database, the AngeliaScheduler Service must be stopped to allow the Configuration Utility to run. Running the Configuration Utility on an unlicensed system will create an Evaluation License and empty Configuration Database on that system. Once the initial configuration has been accomplished, future configuration changes can be handled without interrupting the operation of the AngeliaScheduler Service by using the Remote Queue Manager. License upgrades require the use of the Configuration Utility.
AngeliaScheduler configurations can be password protected to prevent accidental or unauthorized modifications. If a configuration is password protected, the Configuration Utility will display a password dialog whenever it is run. If the password is not known, you may still use the Configuration Utility to inspect configuration information but changes will not be permitted. The Configuration Utility's current password state is displayed in the lower left hand corner of its main form. The Configuration Utility password protection does not apply to access via the Remote Queue Manager where user access rights are enforced instead.
A note on menu item availability: From time to time, menu items or other controls, such as buttons, will be disabled ("grayed out"). In particular, the following controls will be disabled as indicated:
A note on licensing: Production licenses for AngeliaScheduler are based on MAC (Media Access Control) Addresses which requires the presence of a suitable Network Interface Card in the computer on which you plan to host the AngeliaScheduler Service. Only Ethernet and Token Ring type adapters are currently supported although others will be added as needed. A License Activation Key will be generated by Kamradt & Hill that is unique to a particular adapter. This adapter must be present and enabled whenever the AngeliaScheduler Service or Configuration Utility is active. An Evaluation License may only be used for 30 days, and then only for evaluation purposes. A production MAC Address License must be purchased before using the AngeliaScheduler Service in production applications.
