Remote Users And Access Rights Options: User Access Rights are stored as part of the Configuration Database. A "Master List Of Users And Access Rights" can be retrieved by selecting "User Access Rights" under the "Access Rights" selection group. Once a user with appropriate rights has been created, that user can also access and maintain users and rights via the Remote Queue Manager.
Add A New User: To add a new user, click the "Add User" button on the "Master List Of Users" page (the "Add User" button will be disabled if the maximum number of users for your product edition has been reached). Enter an appropriate user-id and user description (usually the user's name or descriptive title if you are creating users that reference functions rather than individuals). Supply and confirm a password and select "User to Select New Password At Next Logon" if you want the user to select his own password (you will still need to provide a password but it can be of a generic "NewUser" nature). You may also specify the users initial access rights by selecting "System Administrator" which grants full rights, "Power User" which grants most rights, or "Standard Operator" which grants a limited set of operational only rights. You can change individual access rights later – but these three choices provide a simple way to set basic rights. Click "Add User" to actually add the user to the database or "Cancel" to exit without saving. Note that you must save the configuration changes ("Config Options" group – "Save Configuration Changes To File") to make your changes permanent.
Delete A User: To delete a user, select the user that you want to delete on the "Master List Of Users" page by clicking on the user, then click "Delete User". The User Status will change to "Deleted" – however, the user will not be physically removed from the configuration until you save your configuration changes and exit the Configuration Utility. You can undelete the user by clicking the "Delete User" with the deleted user selected.
Modify A User: To modify a user, select the user by clicking on the user on the "Master List of Users" page and clicking the "Select" button (or double-click the user). This will display the Access Rights Configuration page for the selected user. You may change any of the items displayed by clicking on the item and clicking the "Select" button (or double-clicking the item – note that double clicking a Boolean item will reverse the current value without going to another form while clicking select will always display the "Modify Configuration Option" page with the item and it’s help text shown. The "Administrator", "Power User", and "Stnd User" buttons have the same effect as the radio selection presented when adding a user – that is, clicking them will set the user’s access rights to that level. You may still change individual rights to customize the user to meet your requirements. Remember to leave at least one user with User Access Rights Maintenance unless you plan to manage access rights by stopping the AngeliaScheduler Service and running the Configuration Utility.
