AngeliaSchedulerTM - On-Line Help - Event Log Viewer

The Event Log Viewer  - (AngeliaSchedLog.exe) – is a Windows desktop application that is used to examine the AngeliaScheduler Service Event Log.  The Event Log Viewer must be run on the system hosting the AngeliaScheduler Service.  The event log structure is circular in nature and holds a maximum of about 30,000 log events.

When the Event Log Viewer is run, it displays all logged events sorted in order from most recent to least recent.  You may eliminate certain types or severities of events from the display by unchecking items in the check list boxes at the bottom of the viewer.  The sort sequence can be modified by clicking on the heading of the column on which you want to sort.  Clicking the sort column header a second time will invert the sort sequence.  Click "Refresh" to reload the list including any events logged since the last Refresh operation.

Events to be logged can be configured - see the Event Logging Manager Options help section under Core Service Configuration.  There are 8 sources defined as follows:

  • Core Events & Modifications logs service startup and shutdown as well as any modifications to Core Service Configuration items.
  • Program Exceptions logs any unexpected program problems.
  • Security Events records all logon and authentication failures including the attempted user-id and source IP Address.
  • User Audits makes a record of all user logons including source IP Address.
  • Task Audits records the submission of tasks, modifications to task configuration, begin and end of task execution, and task purging.
  • Batch Task Submission logs activity by the Batch Task Submission utility.
  • Http Audit records some HTTP message headers - this is a debugging function and is not normally required or recommended.
  • Http Trace records all HTTP message headers - this is a debugging trace and is not normally required or recommended.
