AngeliaSchedulerTM - On-Line Help - Queue Monitor

The Queue Monitor  - (AngeliaSchedMon.exe) – is a Windows desktop application that is used to monitor the operation of an AngeliaScheduler Service either locally or via a network connection.

The Queue Monitor communicates via a TCP/IP connection to an AngeliaScheduler Service host, even if the Queue Monitor is running on the same system as the AngeliaScheduler Service. When running locally, you can connect using your computer's network computername, or you can use either "LocalHost" or "127.0.0.1" as the host address.

When the Queue Monitor starts up, it checks for a host name or IP Address on its command line, and, if present, attempts to connect to that host.  If the connection is successful then the Monitor minimizes itself into a tray icon displaying current AngeliaScheduler host service status.  If no host name or address is found on the command line, a connect dialog is presented asking for a host name or address.  No user-id or password is requested as the Queue Monitor is not configured to make any modification to the host service – it is purely a status monitoring application.

The Queue Monitor tray icon will change to reflect the status of the connected host service.  A calendar page will be displayed if the connection is alive but no task is being executed by that host service.  A "lightning bolt" icon will show if a task is executing, and a red "X" will show if the connection is lost.  Pausing the mouse cursor over the tray icon will show a hint containing brief summary status block.  Right-clicking the tray icon will display a menu that allows the user to connect to a different host, display current queue and task status, launch the Remote Queue Manager, or connect to online help screens.

the Queue Monitor is designed to be included in your startup program menu so that it will automatically run when you log on.  As such, you can include the name or address of the host you want to monitor as a command line argument which eliminates the need to login to the service to check on AngeliaScheduler Service status.

A Note On Licensing:  AngeliaScheduler Licenses apply to the AngeliaScheduler Service and Configuration Database -- in other words, you must have a license for each instance of the AngeliaScheduler Service that you are running (ie - one per AngeliaScheduler Service host system).  An AngeliaScheduler License at any Product Edition level entitles you to install the Queue Monitor on as many desktops as you require.
