AngeliaSchedulerTM - On-Line Help - Quick Start Instructions




Follow the steps below to get AngeliaScheduler up and running on your system:

  1. Download the AngeliaScheduler Setup.Exe file
  2. Run the Setup.Exe file that you downloaded to install AngeliaScheduler
  3. Run the Configuration Utility (Start->All Programs->Angelia Scheduler->Angelia Scheduler Configuration)
  4. Acknowledge the License Agreement when it appears
  5. Select "Next" when the Quick Start Wizard dialog appears
  6. Enter the user information you want to use to connect to AngeliaScheduler (it may be different from your Windows logon) and click "Add User".  Then click "Okay" to acknowledge the "User Created" message that will appear.
  7. Click "Continue To Evaluate" on the "Evaluation License Reminder" dialog.
  8. Click "Save Configuration To File" under "Config Options" to save your configuration
  9. Click "Exit Configuration Utility" under "Config Options" to terminate the Configuration Utility.
  10. Start the Microsoft Service Control Manager by clicking "Control Panel", then "Administrative Tools", and then "Services".
  11. Locate "Angelia Scheduler Service" in the list of services and double-click it to display the Properties dialog.
  12. Click the "Logon" tab and be sure that the "Allow Service To Interact With Desktop" check box is checked.
  13. Click the "General" tab and verify that "Startup Type" is set to "Automatic".
  14. Click "Okay" to return to the list of system services
  15. Click "Start the Service" to start the AngeliaScheduler service
  16. Create a shortcut in the "Shared Documents\AngeliaScheduler Tasks" folder (or copy an existing shortcut to it).
  17. Run the Remote Queue Manager (Start->All Programs->Angelia Scheduler->Angelia Scheduler Remote Queue Manager).
  18. Enter the user-id and password that you provided in the Configuration Quick Start (step 6 above) and click "Connect".
  19. Click "Continue To Evaluate" on the "Evaluation License Reminder" dialog.
  20. Click the "New Task" button on the toolbar
  21. Select the shortcut that you created or copied in AngeliaScheduler Tasks (step 16 above) from the dropdown list.
  22. Click "Add Task" to create the task and then click "Okay" to acknowledge the "Task Created" message.
  23. Double-click on "Queue #1" in the Queues listing to display the Queue Configuration Options dialog
  24. Double-click on the "Queue Status" line to display the Queue Status dialog
  25. Select "Ready" from the drop-down list of queue status options and then click "Apply" - then click "Done" to return to the queue and task listings.
  26. Your task will now be run by AngeliaScheduler. Note that it may take a couple minutes before the task begins if the "Delay Scheduling on Startup" interval has not expired (it defaults to 300 seconds).
