AngeliaSyncTM - On-Line Help - Automation Options

When AngeliaSync is run in "Interactive Mode", it notifies the user immediately if it encounters any problems - usually by means of pop-up dialogs that present error messages and options.  However, when run in "Automation Mode", this type of error handling may be inappropriate - since in Automation Mode, AngeliaSync may very well be running on an un-attended system.

In order to allow the user to select the behavior most appropriate for their environment, AngeliaSync offers a number of automation oriented options.  Most of these options deal with "what should I do if?" situations.  Note that certain types of errors (in particular, problems with the Configuration Database) will cause AngeliaSync to halt in spite of the settings of these options.  These options have no effect in "Interactive" mode - and are as follows:

  • Run Analyze Before Execute - selecting this option causes AngeliaSync to display the Folder Analysis screen when running in Automation Mode.  Normally, Folder Analysis is not performed in Automation Mode since it requires that the application halt and display the Folder Analysis form.
  • Locate Removable Source By Volume Id - certain types of removable storage devices - USB connected "Flash" drives in particular - may change the drive letter assigned to them from time to time.  This setting instructs AngeliaSync to attempt to locate the device containing the source folder by volume label and volume serial number (both must match) if the source folder is housed on a removable device and the source folder is not found at the drive letter specified in the configuration setting.  The setting has no effect if the source folder is not located on a device that Windows considers to be "removable".
  • Locate Removable Target By Volume Id - certain types of removable storage devices - USB connected "Flash" drives in particular - may change the drive letter assigned to them from time to time.  This setting instructs AngeliaSync to attempt to locate the device containing the target folder by volume label and volume serial number (both must match) if the target folder is housed on a removable device and the target folder is not found at the drive letter specified in the configuration setting.  The setting has no effect if the target folder is not located on a device that Windows considers to be "removable".
  • Locate Removable Report By Volume Id - certain types of removable storage devices - USB connected "Flash" drives in particular - may change the drive letter assigned to them from time to time.  This setting instructs AngeliaSync to attempt to locate the device containing the report folder by volume label and volume serial number (both must match) if the report folder is housed on a removable device and the report folder is not found at the drive letter specified in the configuration setting.  The setting has no effect if the report folder is not located on a device that Windows considers to be "removable".
  • Locate Removable Log By Volulme Id - certain types of removable storage devices - USB connected "Flash" drives in particular - may change the drive letter assigned to them from time to time.  This setting instructs AngeliaSync to attempt to locate the device containing the log folder by volume label and volume serial number (both must match) if the log folder is housed on a removable device and the log folder is not found at the drive letter specified in the configuration setting.  The setting has no effect if the log folder is not located on a device that Windows considers to be "removable".
  • Do Not Halt To Show Normal End - if selected, this option instructs AnageliaSync, upon normal (successful) completion of the current profile, to continue processing without pausing for operator acknowledgment.   If this option is not selected, AngeliaSync will pause at the completion of each profile and wait for the operator to click the "Done" button on the copy progress form before continuing (or terminating).
  • Do Not Halt To Show Warnings - if selected, this option instructs AngeliaSync, upon completion of the current profile with warning events encountered, to continue (or terminate) without pausing for operator acknowledgment.  If this option is not selected, AngeliaSync will pause at the completion of any profile that encountered warning events during processing and wait for the operator to click the "Done" button on the copy progress form before continuing (or terminating).
  • Do Not Halt To Show Errors - if selected, this option instructs AngeliaSync, upon completion of the current profile with error events encountered, to continue (or terminate) without pausing for operator acknowledgment.   If this option is not selected, AngeliaSync will pause at the conclusion of any profile that encountered error events during processing, and wait for the operator to click the "Done" button on the copy progress form before continuing (or terminating).
  • Continue With Next Group Profile After Warning(s) - if selected, this option instructs AngeliaSync to continue with the next profile after encountering warning events during the processing of the current profile.  If this option is not selected, and warning events are encountered during the processing of the current profile, any profiles that follow the current profile in the group will not be attempted.
  • Continue With Next Group Profile After Error(s) - if selected, this option instructs AngeliaSync to continue with the next profile after encountering error events during the processing of the current profile.  If this option is not selected, and error events are encountered during the processing of the current profile, any profiles that follow the current profile in the group will not be attempted.
