AngeliaSyncTM - On-Line Help - The "Copy In Progress" Form

Whenever AngeliaSync executes a synchronization, the Copy Progress Form is displayed to show you what is happening (a sample form is shown on the left side of this page - click the small image to see a full size version). It displays a progress bar graph showing how far it has gotten with the current file and offers an estimated time to complete the current file. If "Execute" was pressed on the Folder Synchronization Analysis Form, it also shows an overall progress bar graph and estimated time to completion of the entire Source Folder Synchronization.

At the top of the form is the Synchronization Report area. Depending on your Logging And Reporting Processing Options selections (see Logging And Reporting Options) various events will cause a line to be added to this report as they occur. When the copy is completed, this report will be expanded to the full size of the Copy Progress form so that you can see the report more easily (a sample is shown on the left side of this page - click the small image to see a full size version).

You can abandon a synchronization run before it is completed in two ways:

  • Cancel At The End Of The Current File - click on the "Cancel After This File Is Copied" button to signal AngeliaSync that it should halt when it finishes the current file. This type of cancellation leaves all files in a consistent state, although files that would have followed the current file are not updated. A "Terminate Pending" message appears in the lower left hand corner of the form in red type. Clicking "Cancel After This File Is Copied" again will cancel the "Termination Pending" condition if the click is made before AngeliaSync has completed the current file.
  • Cancel Immediately - click on the "Abort This Copy" button to terminate immediately. The copy will immediately be paused and a confirming dialog will appear. Click "Yes" on the dialog to abort the copy or "No" to return to the copy process. Note that cancelling in this fashion will result in an unstable output file in the target folder since the file that was in process when the abort occurred will be only partially written.

Once the synchronization is complete (ie - all eligible files have been processed), the Synchronization Report will be expanded to fill the entire Copy Progress form. If neither Logging nor Reporting has been enabled, the "Save Report" button will be enabled to allow you to save the Synchronization Report to a file of your choice. Click "Done" to return to the application's main form.

NOTE - when running in Automation Mode, AngeliaSync will only pause on completion if configured to do so. See Automation Options for more information.
