AngeliaSyncTM - On-Line Help - Using Profile Groups

AngeliaSync's Profile Groups are a unique and powerful feature that allow you to collect any number of AngeliaSync Profiles into a single group for automated execution. Groups are simple to create and even easier to use.

A list of Profile Groups can be displayed by clicking the "Profile Groups" button on the Profile List form (see Using Saved Profiles for more information). An example of the Profile Groups list is shown at the left side of this page - click on the image to display a full size version. You can sort the list on any column by clicking the column header - click it again to invert the sort. Click the "Back To Profiles" button to return to the Profiles List Form.

You can perform a number of functions from the Profile Groups list form including:

  • View or Edit Profile Group Setting - click on a profile group to select it and then click the "Select" button (or press the "Enter" key) to open the selected profile group. It will be displayed in the "Update Profile Group" form with the group's name and title at the top followed by a list of all of your saved profiles. Those profiles that belong to the selected group will display a green "yes" in the "In Group" column of the list. You can sort the profile list on any column by clicking the column header - click it again to invert the sort. An example of the Update Profile Group" form is shown at the left side of this page - click the small image to display a full size version. On the Update Profile Group form you can edit the Profile Group Title and you can add or subtract Profiles from the Group by clicking on a Profile in the list and then clicking the "Toggle In Group Status" button (or double-clicking the profile in the list). When you are satisfied with the settings of your Group, click the "Update Group" button to save your changes and return to the Profile Groups List - or click "Cancel" to abandon your changes.
  • "Execute" A Profile Group - click on a Group to select it and then click the "Execute" button. The profiles that make up the group will be loaded one after the other and executed. Either the Analyze or Copy Progress form will be displayed depending on each profile's automation settings.
  • Create A Profile Shortcut - click on a group to select it and then click the "Create Shortcut" button to create a Windows desktop shortcut that will allow you to "Execute" that Profile Group in Automation Mode directly from the desktop. The name of the shortcut will be the title of your group. You can select a folder location for your shortcut when the "Select Folder For Shortcut" dialog appears (the default location is your desktop).
  • Create A New Group - click the "New Group" button to display the "Create A Profile Group" form. It is identical to the "Update Profile Group" form (shown at the left side of this page) except that the Group Name and Title are empty and must be provided. Enter a Name and Title for your group following the same rules as those employed in forming Profile Names and Titles (see Saving Profiles for more information on properly formed Profile Names and Titles). Include as many profiles in your group as you wish by selecting one or more profiles in the list and clicking the "Toggle In Group Status" button. When you are satisfied with your Group's settings, click the "Create Group" button to save your Group and return to the Profile Group List form - or click "Cancel" to exit without saving your new group.
  • Create A New Group Like An Existing One - right-click on the profile group list to display a menu and select "Create New Group Like The One Selected". The "Create A Profile Group" form will be displayed exactly as in "Create A New Group" above except that the profile list will have the "In Group" statuses set exactly like the Group that was highlighted in the Profile Group list when the menu selection was made.  Proceed as above to finish creating your group.
  • Delete A Group - right-click on the profile group list to display a menu and select "Delete This Group" by clicking on it to delete the highlighted Group. A dialog asking you to confirm that you want to delete the group will appear. Click "Yes" to confirm and the group will be deleted or click "No" to return to the Profile Group List without deleting the group.
