AngeliaSyncTM - On-Line Help - Saving Profiles

Any time that you have completed configuring AngeliaSync, you can save that configuration as a "Profile" by clicking the "Save Profile" toolbar button. The application will first verify that your current settings are valid, and then display the "Save Profile" Dialog (an example is shown on the left side of this page - click it to see it full size).

Profile name is designed to be used as a command line parameter, and to simplify that use it utilizes a limited character set consisting of upper case letters, digits, and the underscore ("_") character. Profile name must also be unique - so, if the profile name that you enter already exists in the Configuration Database, a warning dialog will be displayed asking you to confirm that you want to overwrite the previously stored profile.

Profile Title is intended to identify the purpose of the Profile to you - and as such it should be unique. Since Profile Title is also used as the name of any shortcut file created for the profile, it must conform to file system file naming rules. This means that characters such as wildcards (* and ?) and other reserved characters (such as colon and slash or backslash) are not allowed.

If an AngeliaSync Profile was current (ie - you had previously opened a profile using the "Load Profile" toolbar button) then the Profile Name and Title will already be filled with the name and title of the current profile. If you want to update that profile then click the "Save" button or press the "enter" key. If you want to create a new profile, then enter a new name and title and click "Save" or press "enter".

If the Profile Name and Profile Title that you entered meet requirements, and there is no conflict with an existing profile, then your profile will be saved and you will be returned to the application's main form. The Profile that you just created (or updated) will now be your current profile and its title will be displayed in the lower lefthand corner of the form.

If you entered a profile name other than the name of the current profile (if any) and that profile name already exists in the Configuration Database, you will see a warning dialog asking you to confirm that you want to overwrite the previously saved Profile with your current settings. Click "Yes" to save the profile and return to the main form or press "No" to return to the Save Profile Dialog form to change the Profile Name.
